St Austell Town Council tries to procure goods and services locally wherever possible but also is mindful that it has a duty to obtain good value for money. 

For purchases over £60,000 formal tenders are used. For smaller purchases it is usual to get at least three quotations. The Council may choose the most economically advantageous quotation or tender which might not always be the cheapest.
