WW1 commemoration - Fundraising initiative by the St Austell Library Support Association (SALSA)

St Austell Library Support Association (SALSA) are hoping to raise £3,000 for their WW1 commemoration “There but Not There” project by way of a crowdfunding initiative which was launched on Monday 25th June 2018.

The very successful SALSA group are hoping to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of WW1 by putting on various and events and activities in November.  The activities planned so far are a play, tea dance, workshops for children with Bath symphonia and a Book of War Time Memories.  Central to the activities is the “There But Not There” statue, which will proudly sit in the library garden for everyone to enjoy and reflect.  St Austell Town Council kicked off the funding by granting £250 towards the project at their last Community Committee meeting.

The Crowdfunding platform will run from Monday 25th June 2018 for 8 weeks with donors eligible for a reward depending on the level of funding donated.

If you would like to help SALSA with this fund raising initiative, please either go to the link below or pop in to the St Austell Library where our staff will be more than happy accept donations from people who do not wish to donate online.
